He stirred, waking up slowly to hear hushed voices around him, but waking up because something small was pushing on him... with a low groan he he reached for whatever it was behind him as he opened is eyes to see a massive lake in front of him. His expression became all the more complexed as he heard something shriek behind him as the pushing stopped...
"Get away from me! Help" it seemed to yell, but it was small, and alot more quiet then it should have been for it.
He turned over to see the source of the yelling, a yellow flower who sounded scared to death... "what the..." he reached for it and ppicked it, not sure what to make of this. It's scream (however relatively quiet) plus the gasp of every other plant now in front of him and in fact, it seemed even that forest itself was gasping, suprised him enough to drop the flower....
"the cat's back... the cat's back!" came a few hushed murmers....
"the who's back now? Who's the cat?" he asked, more then confused...

{OOC: Infiltrating over here as well ^^}
Lynier walked through the forest, lost in another world. He could never quite place himself anywhere anymore. He never really belonged in the world. The Millinery was dead. She was dead and he could not even remember exactly who she was.
He was stolen from his previous thoughts by the trees around him gasping in horror. His body tensed awaiting an attack. Something was nearby. He flattened himself with his back against a nearby tree trunk. Adrenaline raced through his veins as his body readied itself.
However, it was obvious after a few moments that an attack was never going to arrive. The trees were talking in rushed whispers about a cat. Was it The Cat? Redd... but thought was lost as quickly as it had formulated. There was something ahead so he went to discover what it was. He moved forward with an air of caution.
After walking a few paces forward he could see a cat by the Pool. He blinked and waited in silence to see what it was doing.

(OOC: welcome aboard! The beauty of these things is how open they are!... and yes, this character is the "cat" described in "possible character")
"cat" was beginning to catch on... slowly he pointed to himself... "Im the cat?" he slowly said to himself, before looking down at himself... he turned to look in the water... "so those like me are cats... or is that a name just for me...."
"push him in! quickly!" came the reply behind him. "you do it! he murdered the last one who tried!"
Now the cat turned on the forest. "You know I can hear you!" he muttered, a low anger in his voice and his thoughts between being angry at the trees for wanting to kill him, and for being accused of murder over a flower. This last part struck him enough that he went silent.... the obsurdity was enough to make him smile....
He finally began to think of a response before he caught sight of the movement in the forest... definately not a tree...
"thank god" he said under his breath... "EXCUSE ME!!! SIR?!?!? Could I ask you something, because frankly IM fed up with talking to the scratchingposts here." he knew that sounded cruel, but why not? They wanted to kill him for (the best he could tell) waking up this morning.

Caliban wasnt too far away, on his normal patrol.... up until a year or so, he was very regular about it, but he has since been advised that regular is predictable, and an enemy can use it, so he was currently trying to change things up. Be it go in the reverse direction, or vary when he would be in various locations.
Today, he was early and going the reverse way... he didnt hear the splash of the Pool opening up. He didnt hear the forest murmuring, but he did hear the shout about scratching posts, and began to run towards it. Someone was here that shouldnt be. He was going to find out who.

Selena burst from the surface of the pretty much calm lake. She took a deep breath and flipped her hair back before slowly swimming toward the banks of the lake and pulling herself from the now rippling surface.
She rested and took a deep breath, not caring if anyone or anything was around. "who's that...Otherworld.." she heard whispers traveling through hushed lips behind her.
"If you want to say hello then don't." she said with a strong and clear sounding voice.
She yawned and flopped down onto her back settling one arm under her head and the other covering her eyes. This was her mother's world... it would be her's soon as well.

"the cat" jumped and looked behind him, still pretty much along the shore. "what the..." he muttered before seeing the young woman in the water. He didnt make it along the shoreline fast enough to offer help, but he saw her drop on the shoreline clear enough....
"Ma'am... are you alright?" his tone was geunine, if not still annoyed with the trees who wanted to push him into the same water. He crouched by her side, waiting for an answer... after all, this young lady could have almost drowned for all he knew. By now, his attention had entirely left the figure who had revealed themselves in the forest to him a moment ago....
* * *
Caliban's run stopped short as he approached the forest. He didnt see the cat, but hearing whispers of it made his blood run cold. He was a child during those wars, but he remembered the legend that creature had made for itself very well.
Slowly, he slipped his hat off his head, folding the bring downward and forcing the hat into a sharp umbrella-like cone.... he was not going to be caught off gaurd, not if he could help it.
And then his eyes zeroed in... he saw the humanoid shape hiding against a tree. It may not be the cat, but this one too, should probably not be here, and in the commotion, he wasnt about to let his gaurd drop. It was too late to appear like he wasnt ready, so he made his approach with all the intention he could muster to the surface. He was comming, and he wanted to show whoever it was, they best just wait to answer a few questions.... or it could be hell to pay.

{OOC: Sorry about the long wait for a reply. life keeps catching up you know. lol}
Lynier watched the cat for a moment before opening his mouth to attempt saying something. However, the cat was distracted by something. He shrugged lightly to himself and was about to wander off. He did not want to waste his time with chatter.
He turned and saw the person approaching and the adrenaline found its way back through his veins. His eye narrowed and he could feel his muscles tense in anticipation. There was something familiar about the outfit and the weaponry. There was a small twinge of pain behind the eyepatch where his eye once was. He twitched lightly before he forced himself to focus on the person moving towards him.
"Who are you?" He said in a hardened tone.

{OOC: no problem! just glad to see you playing! } Caliban's pace slowed to a steady strut. This man wouldnt run.... he was sure of it now. And his uniform gave away his allegience. Still, something wasnt quite right. But unable to place it, Caliban refolded his fedora. "might just be nerves" he justified to himself. Still... "Caliban Oliva of the Milliners," he returned, his tone absolute, dutiful, and accompanied with a salute. "Who would I have the honor of addressing? I wasn't aware of any other patrols in the area."

{OOC: Shadow... thank you for that magical word. ^^}
Lynier's one eye twitched as the man introduced himself. Milliner, such a familiar yet foreign word. It triggered something and his eye narrowed more leaving nothing more than a sliver of eye peeking from behind the lids.
"The Millinary is dead." He said in sharp tones, his lips curling into a dangerous sneer. "I will not be tricked by the likes of you. How dare you ..." but his insult was suddenly lost. His body remained ready as all the well trained muscles waited for the ever imminent attack.
His brilliant green eye looked over the young man before him. Where was he again? "Who are you?" He asked in a softer tone making him seem far less fierce than the earlier harsh words would have made him seem.
{OOC: on another note... Molly will post soon, she wanted to make sure I put that in. }

((OOC: Sorry, Got distracted by trying to set up buisnesses.. O.o))
Selena looked up and saw someone silhouetted above her. She raised her hand to block the sun from her eyes and glared daggers into their direction, "Who are you?" she asked simply, pouring hate and unfathomable loathing into her iced down voice.
She didn't want anyone to know of her existence here, yet. Though it may prove valuable to have someone who knew of the mannerisms and habits of the people. She needed to blend in, for now, so standing out due to impoliteness or a committing a social faux pa would prove ineffective in her sneaky-ness.
((Yay for bad spelling!>.<))

{OOC: no problem... I just didnt want it to seem like one set was frozen in time... I more then understand being busy... and I know how insane setting up a business can be. Good luck with it!}
Caliban blinked, suprised. He had not expected such a tone over his allegiences. "I suppose I should be asking you that..." he replied, equally calm, "but I assure you, the Milliners are very much alive. To be blunt, we have to be."
***
The cat backed up a little, kinda superised that not only could this person have so much force after nearly drowning, but to be so... just unpleasant. Still she had hit a soft spot.... and one that quickly took such things from his mind.
"Who am I?" he thought, mumbling slightly.... he had not thought about that yet, and it was more then a little disturbing to find the answer in his mind pretty much blank...
"Who am I?" he repeated, a little more clearly..... before looking back at Selena. "Would you believe, I dont really know? The plants here seem to call me by 'the cat,' but it doesnt sound like a name, somehow...." his voice trailed off, but till the end, remained to that lost tone only a question so personal could give when no answer was there to return to it.

Selena blinked and looked at him, some of her fire gone.
A cat..? why was that slightly familiar. She narrowed her eyes and stared. "Well, I'll have to call you something, right?" she asked with the same cold voice.
She thought a moment and looked off into the distance, then she smirked, " How about Morte?" she asked.
She could always use someone to help her..hjn

Lynier blinked at the person before him confounded as to why there would even need to be affirmed that Milliners were alive. There were plenty of Milliners around. He himself being one of those. This person was quite odd. Yet at that thought something ticked behind the eyes in some small part of his frontal lobe. No.. things were different....now?
When was it? He looked around a moment before he became aware of the person in front of him once again. He gave a quick once over noting the familiar dress.
"I am Lynier Tortile, Top Cut First Class," He said in the normal even tones one met with in the Millinary, "And yourself?"

{OOC: you will have to forgive me if I dont have the ranking right... I dont remember one from the stories specifically}
Caliban nodded as his motion stiffened some... Top Cuff is serious stuff.. and a rank he couldnt do more then dream of yet. He had a reputation for efficiency and tone, but no experience to do anything with.
"Caliban Oliva... First Cuff" He added with a little explanation "I havent been on duty for very long... just finished the academy as the war ended, Sir...." a thought occured to him, but he quickly repressed it. He admired those who faced what he had not had the chance to, but he would not show a response and disgrace himself if he could help it.
* * *
"Morte... Morte..." the cat thought for a second.... "I guess one name's as good as another.... alright..." His tone wasnt exactly certain, but then, he was still not done wrestling with not knowing his real name.
He shook his head "in any case, are you alright... miss...." he laughed, in genuine irony... "You just game me a name, and yet I dont know yours... may I ask?"
